South west super league round 5 at Newbridge

The 5th Round was fished 6/9/09 on the Bristol Avon at Newbridge.Mid week rain freshened the river up a bit, but it was still clear.But this didn't stop the Bream from having a go on a couple of pegs.
The individual winner was Bob 'Darnell' Gullick from Garbolino Blackmore Vale, who was drawn on peg 67 above newton st.lowe railway bridge. Bob balled groundbait at the start and quickly had around 6lb of roach before he lost a bream on his 'Roach Rig'. Swapping to a 3gm flat float and worm, Bob caught 9 bream to end with 36.8.0
2nd was Preston Innovation Thatchers angler Mark Harper who was in the same section, but below the bridge on peg 77, Mark also had a few bream again on the pole and ended with 21.10
3rd with 16.12 .0 of roach from the upstream end peg at Rotork was Chris 'Gappy' Parr of Sensas Thyers.
His teammate Lance Tucker also in the winners section on peg 72 had 13.14.0 for 4th consisting of roach on the pole
5th was Richard Chave from Garbolino Blackmore vale with 52 roach and perch from downstream end peg 143 on pole and caster, finally Evesham veterans champion Rich Candy from Cardiff Nomads was 6th with 11.14 .0 of bleak, small roach and chub on a whip from Rotork.
