its hard to police! but a agree that at the start those who choose to dump should stay put and wait,as its there choice to dump Image Image
but towards the end of a match anglers packing up have finished there match and thrown the towel in you won't stop that
this doesn't just happen on canals commercials where b/j are allowed often anglers dump and walk thats wrong as well. but if its fishery rules how can you stop that.
and the other side,if lee has to disqualify a angler or friend its not very nice for him and i bet the angler who complained wouldn't be in site or own up.this is not how lee would want to run matches or anyone else jon

Where do you draw the line?

3rd round of my teams of three i walked back to my car to get a coat.

5th round I went to the car to get pain killers for my back.

Loughborough open I went to the burger van because I was Hungry.

Would any of these be classed as OK?

"other than for emergencies and answering the call of nature"

Its not that hard to interpret really is it?! I dont think anyone minds someone getting off their box for a few minutes to do anything. Its the anglers dissappearing for ages, walking up and down and standing behind other competitors etc that needs to be addressed.

You cant do it on the ATWL, Super Leagues or Nationals so it would be nice to get the same professionalism across the board.

I agree Jon but all you would get is "i need to go to the toilet" whos to say that they have gone up to nearest pub to use loo or just left peg to rest it.  You should take your coat with you when you go to peg, the rest of us get headache whenever we draw next to Lee and dont go for pills Imageand stop eating burgers you fat fcuker Image

This rule keeps being put into place but nobody enforces it, if somebody actually got disqualified then maybe anglers would take notice. at gold valley they break the ice, ball it then go and play pool for 2 hours, whats that all about. dont think you get it as much in the summer bill dumping squatts dont work Image

Oy woodhouse, there ain't no crappity smack line to draw!

NFA Rules clearly state, Rule 26. No competitor may leave his/her peg during the Championship other than to answer the call of nature. However in the event of an emergency and/or severe weather conditions, a competitor may leave their peg but only with the express permission of the Senior Section Steward. In such circumstances the Senior Steward may decide in the best interest of the competitors that fishing should be suspended. In the worst case fishing may be terminated by the Senior Steward upon instruction from the NFA's team of Championship adjudicators.

Rule 27 also comes into it.
A competitor must not cause annoyance to, seek to interfere with another competitor or use mobile phones during the course of the Championship.

Fetching a crappity smack jacket is hardly an emergency. Pills may be in some cases.

Makes me wonder perhaps some of you chaps like being 'interfered with'. Image

OK the rule needs to be modified a touch but it's all there.
For the record I see no harm in using mobiles in matches but not the Nationals.

I love walking the bank seeing what baits and rigs other people are using. I cannot help being nosy.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with bank walking. That is unless you are fishing a match.

perhaps the one's that want this rule in forced should try running the matches i for one wouldn't like to disqualify any angler because from the moment you do it will set a presidents from then on. and most of the time will be taken up by sorting these problems out

one way to deal with it is to introduce red and yellow cards once you have a yellow card you will know where you stand if you do it again

The "No Bankwalking" rule worked perfectly well for years on the FMS W/L which Bill used to run until very recently. It is very easy to introduce and creates professionalism and courtesy Image Image

Easy, sorted, nice one 8-) 8-) 8-)

"Should bank walking be allowed in team matches?"

Sorry everyone - organisers choice

Angling times we play by angling times rules

so therefore makes sense that Lee's League ... Lee's rules .....

I ent goin to promote bank walking ever but i think people belive i am

what i will promote is that these decisions lie with event organisers Image

for this reason i ent cast a vote for yes, no or don't know - because it's the match organisers choice

in short "i don't make the rules - but i will damn sure play by them !"

In last years Div 3 pracise matches one lad 'walked' at Penkridge in a Wolves AA match I fished; Dodge probably fished it as well and may remember it. He came back sat on his wobbly cheeks and 'won' his section.

He won Jack Schitt; he had a moan as he took no notice as to the rules and was disqualified without picking up anything.

If I remember correctly the rule came in at Stafford many years ago, at a match I fished but didn't run. There was a lot of bonus fish in the Milford section of the Staffs-Worcs then and if you had 3 lb you were sure to frame. Two mates, they shall remain nameless drew around 8 or 9 pegs from each other; they both caught a bream each as was clearly seen by several other pegged on this section. At the weigh in one weighed in two bream to 'win' the match and the other didn't weigh in. They both received a life ban for Stafford matches and they deserved it.
Bank walking gives some ideas to cheat.

As to fetching your coat, yes this could also open up the possibility of cheating. Who is to know what else was brought back from their car under that coat.

Why give them the chance to do it?????? The answer is simple; take the temptation away.

RULE 13.

Stewards will do their utmost to prevent specator approaching or interfering with the competitors.

However a maximum of 4 Ban Runners per Team are allowed who will be clearly indentifiable. They may pass information to their own team members only. Bank runners may use mobile phones to contact each other but must not contact any of the competitors.
