Malc,
It would appear you've set yours up using a "Xanga Theme"

Mine is set up on the old "Classic" layout which I've kept as it allowed me to customise things just enough for what I wanted with regards to font and colours etc. I've had a look at the "Themes" and couldn't sort one to my satisfaction although they allow more customisation.

I'm pretty sure that Clive has played about with his a bit more on the "Module" side of things.

Feel free to give me a bell though. ;)

To be honest Malc I find Peter and Clives sites much easier to read than yours at the mo.

I hate having mostly irrelevant crap down the side restricting the area of the text. :(

Malc,
I have to say that light text on darker backgrounds is a pet hate of mine, and yellow on blue is just about the worst, it just gives me a headache if I spend to long reading it.

I tend to feel that lighter pastel colours work best as backgrounds, along with a sharp dark colour for the text. While any more than 3 colours on a page just looks to busy and breaks things up.

The font you choose makes a big difference to the feel of a page as well, which is why I chose Comic Sans MS for mine as it's a nice clear easily read font IMO.

All food for thought and in the end it's your Blog. All I tried to do with mine was to create an easily read page that was gentle on the eyes. 8-)

I will be honest and say I dont like the current layout colours. It hurts my eyes.
The bluey grey with black text like this reply is in is easy on the eyes Image

It's a pain to get the colours (background and font) to look good to me so i totally agree with you both.

More playing around to do later with the colours but at least i know you'll be honest and say if it is hard on the eye's :)

At least i've got a couple of weeks till my next trip which gives plenty of time to sort it out. 8-)

My first attempt I used a theme and it was a total nightmare >:( and impossible to get rid of bits I didn't want
in the end I made a new account and kept the classic old style because once you choose a theme you are stuck with it >:(
Not sure if you can still get the old style now when you join up ?

With the old style members page it's dead easy to edit the module just click edit and paste what ever code you want into the module

As for the tabs try making the link text the same colour as back ground ;)

By the way I can live with the "new Malc" catching vermin etc but the GREEN has to go Image
