Phone rings at 8.15 and John tells me im on peg 6. He was to fish 16 and George peg 26.
In last weeks match the winner had come from the area I was in so I was quite hopeful of a good result today.
I setup a pinkie and squat rig for the far bank, a caster rig for down the track and a top two for down the inside.
On the whistle i started down the inside with the punch, I fed some punch crumb groundbait and had little roach move in right away. After 20 mins of catching I went down the track as I has seen the guys to my left catching from there. I had fed about 25 casters on the whistle. As soon as the float settled I had a good size perch about 1-5 - 2lb and thought oh yeah  :)
I caught steady down the track until the last 2 hours and it just died, so I tried the far bank and had 1 roach and a few knocks on the pinkie. I tryed a caster too but it was just getting knocked about by the small roach. So I went back down the track and decided to stick it out for the last bit of the match. Caught a bream and another roach and then a smaller roach. The last half hour I did not have anything  :(
I dont think I had fed too much but the swim totally died in the last 2 hours, shame really.

But it was enough to give me first place  anyway :D :D I weighed in 4lb 9oz 10dr  :o
Conna got third in his section and George got joint last. I wont be catching that much next match if today is anything to go by.
The other sections did not fish too good  :(

Enjoyed it, Pictures can be found here....

It won't be so easy for me next time though, that was the best section I fished today :-? hehe

I think the weight may have been 4-13-10 as Jack the bloke that weighed us in forgot to write my weight down and then wrote what he thought in someone else's spot on the board ::) ::) lol, makes no difference anyhow but Me and Conna both agree so there >:( :D :P

Well what can I say but well done Si you jammy B*****d. You did me proud mate. Yopu were on a good peg but even so you put a blinding weight together and if I had been on it I don't think I could have done any better. I was 3rd in my section and dry net george was joint last in his, nicknamed James Bond now after his 007 weight lol. It was a very hard section though. We should be in a good position after the first match so keep up the good work. Image
