Wish I knew where the best river fishing was myself !

Anyway, tomorrow i'm down on the Warwickshire avon again at Eckington. Looking forward to it like a kid going to a sweetshop.

Lots of small fish, nothing massive, but I'm going to start on a a groundbait feeder, usually go fordown the middle but tomorrow i'm going to find the bottom of the nearside ledge if there is one, maybe a qtr to a third over, and give it 45 mins ish to see if antybream around, all the while feeding hemp down the side and that line will be my main attack after ive tried for a bonus skimmer or two.

Thats my top tip...hemp ! last week id get a fish every chuck if I managed to keep it on the hook. thats the problem. Thinking of trying to hair rig it somehow, also going to try artificial on the hook again with a 16 or even 14 to help it sink at a rate closer to the real stuff i'll let you know how it goes. Not had any sucess with artificial yet but some recommend it.

Prob use 6 sections of a pole and a 1.0 grm float as its quite deep, small shot strung out as they can feed at all depths and on the drop bits are common.

In club matches I find its a banker method on the avon where you dont need a big weight. 5-10lb im hoping for. Know thats a big spread , probably 4-8 more like it, 8 would be great, we'll see.

Fish fine, very regular feeding of just a few grains and keep at it is what i do ,, absolutely love that type of fishing. Nothing like seeing a fine bristle sailing down river and disappearing.

Raaaaaaaa  Image (1st post  :o told you i would post 1 day Si  :-* )

Ive nothing to post, but still look in here every now and then. I havnt been fishing for a couple of weeks, last place was at Rolfs midweek in Oxford which was abit of a nightmare for me! Carp were there but didnt like the stuff i was giving them and i just had 12lb 8oz hehe. The day was full of frustration for me, but good banter and everyones friendly- thats what fishing is all about   :D oh and the important pound side bet  :P
