Wonder why perhaps the red turns considerably black.

Well said Scotty  Image

Cant see the point in having an individual Champion of Champions, everything IMO should be resourced towards what it has always been ...... a TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP  !!!!!

::)   ;)   8-)
no money taken in for a team event should go to individual match.

Unless I was born under a gooseberry bush does this really tell us all where these extra £60s are going.

For the record 180 X £60 = £10,800 and not £9000 as was previously banded around.

Sounds a bit over the top for "expenses".

all these costs sounds like someones having a good pay day, dont semi peg fees come out of pools, as a regular semi and finalist i dont see why teams at round stage should pay my peg fees.£2,700 seems a lot for a semi final 1 photographer any takers?

first of all well done ken for coming up with the breakdown figures for all to see. having seen the breakdown of figures and eventual losses incurred i can see the predicament and sympathise.

however i have come to the following conclusions. the final payout figures seem very high . most team match anglers i know in general enjoy firstly their sport , then the competition of the anglers (some of the best in the country), then the craic with other anglers. at no point have i ever heard its because of the money we can win.

the prestige of winning such an event, for most if not all is enough .i assume pools will be paid into on the day aswell , although that may not be the case. bearing these things in mind and as a way of reducing your losses why not look at reducing the finals kitty (one of your biggest outlays). for me fishing is NOT ABOUT THE MONEY ! ENJOY THE FISHING ,COMPETITION AND COMRADESHIP . anyway ken good luck on on running one of this calendars premier events.

ken are you going to be the one that picks the semi venues and who fishes what leauge. if so wouldnt it be wise to listen to who ever is in the semi's so that you might get some were that dont rip you and the anglers of with pegging and bait prices. im sure you could save a few quid that way we all no some venues take the yellow stream but you have no choice if thats were it is.

Would there be a tacklefest without the Tam Championships?

2 + 2 = how many?

Ken it is good you have used popular match angling websites/forums to gauge opinion and feeling about the AT winter league ........ constructive criticism is good and usually sorts out any issues that people have. After a few years break my team rejoined the NFA and fished this years Div 3 on the Staffs/Worces canal around Stafford superbly run by the NFA and Tony Keeling, the scenes after the match when Dams & locks and Four Ashes AC won gold and silver were very special, die hard good anglers doing very well and achieving there dreams with their mates...........you could see what it meant to them, this can only happen in angling, its brilliant possibly like the romance of the FA Cup. The AT winter league needs and match fishing needs these teams, they form the backbone of team fishing, too many have been falling by the wayside in recent years, it maybe a little late in the day but you and AT may have a chance to reverse this. Inevitably the big teams with international anglers galore will win the spoils in the final but the early regional league rounds provide something special for everyone like others lads on this forum have touched on ........ for me and the future of team fishing its paramount we dont lose anymore teams this year !!!!!

i would like to see everything up front before the first round if that's possible and if for some reason leagues fold or teams dropout then address the problem
lets see what boundaries we are in for the semi and the venues

If the final is at Cudmore on the day following the Fish'o'mania final it will make a mockery of this competition.

Certain top team managers will have had this information for months before every one else which will give them a definate advantage!

If this is the case are they already recruiting anglers/knowledge for semi finals and the final?

I sincerely hope this is not the case.

in any major competition what ever sport before you start you know exactly where you stand from the group stage to the semi and then the final
its about time angling had a board of organisers and we  have a set amount of competitions throughout the year whether on a league or bases or one-offs
also try and involve the tackle trade and sponsors

Some good points there fellas ;) Image

I think this issue needs to be cleared up quickly before it gets out of hand ....... maybe Diddy, Chris V, Duncan Goodhew or Endpeg could offer an opinion or a few words on the subject as the assumption now seems to be some teams are more in the know than others !! For me the situation with where the final is going to take place needs to be resolved BEFORE the competition starts in a few weeks time. How can anyone PAY for something before they know what they are getting !!!

Chris, the impression i am getting from fellow anglers is that its not about paying the £6 but where the £6 is going.
