Makes me glad when i read canal reports like these that i dont fish them anymore. There was a time i would sit in the cold/wet and prey for a bite- didnt enjoy it, i did it just to be out. Thank gawd for commercials is all i can say!
Hmmmm. I got to my peg and before the whistle went my bait tray blew in and I lost all my casters and 2 rigs and almost lost my bait stand if it weren't for my prompt slump to my belly to retrieve it. It took me 30 mins to tie 1 hooklength due to the wind keeping blowing the hook into my clothes. I managed to catch a fish and as I had to ship back with the pole I thought I'd pull my brolly down to see if any more motorbikes were coming only to have half a gallon of water go down inside my coat and earhole.
How I managed to finish 3rd with 4lbs 2oz 8 drm I'll never know. I must have watched the float go under at least a dozen times and couldn't be ar*ed to strike.
Are those the permenant peg numbers that were used?
Don't know, it was pegged out but Conna will tell you.
I think they only pegged it out because the actual peg numbers were hidden by the undergrowth.
So they might be the actual pegs.
