Just a quick report....
There were some spaces on a Jinx match, Malc from MD's runs a series of matches and I was lucky enough to gain a place.

At the draw I drew peg 25(permanent peg 32) which was a end peg...

It was raining on and off all day. I had been told to fish bronze maggot up in the water and keep feeding.
All I took today was 6 pints of bronze maggot and my hooker pellets as you have to buy the fisheries own feeder pellets.
On the all in I fed 3 lines, one to the left one to the right and one in front of me. Really simple, I started catching right away and caught all the way through the match.
Biggest fish was 2lb. I was catching alot of smaller fish including skimmers and roach too but mainly small carp.
I finished 3rd overall with 62lb 4oz. Second was 64lb and first was 86lb.
Was a good day out despite the weather. Just drying all my kit off and getting my GB and bait ready for Larford tomorrow.
All me new gear got dirty and wet :'( :'( But my new brolly is brilliant so far Image

Si(me) looking serious for the days fishing.......... :D

Well done SS  Image A bostin weight of small fish - pity them few fish came off the hook as you'd have sneaked 2nd place. Certainly a good way to 'bounce back' - a first and third tipping 140lb on the scales in the process.
Presume you didn't get minxed then?
Did you use the 6 pints?
With hindsight would you have done anything differently - different lines/rigs/shotting/feeding patterns etc?

The day i ever look or take a match serious will be the day i jack it all in. The best part of the whole jinx thing is about the banter and freindship amongst freinds. Well after yesterday its poved that 2007 ive move on to bigger fish with not 1 gudgeon in my net but 7lb of skimmers to put a silver net together along side my carp net.

Yeah Si, you did well matey Image Image
I was shocked to see them carp, I thought you had nicked someone else's :)

Cheers TK, Yes I fed most of the six pints, had about half a pint left which I gave to Dave the Fish.
I wouldn't have done anything different except not bothering with the 5 meter line for the first 30 mins or so. I knew what I was going to do and I stuck to it. I had 3 rigs made up the same... You might be proud of me here...... Image
4x10 float. 0.13 line to a 18, yes 18 hook Image Image
The hook went blunt on the first rig and eventual snapped off Image and I carried on with the second rig.
I didn't really know everyone there and I wasn't pegged next to anyone I knew so I just sat in the corner like a naughty schoolboy and fished on my own :( :(
I was hoping to get a ton yesterday but after and hour I knew they weren't coming fast enough, always another time :-/
