Topsoil- a substitute for Leam?
Hi guys, has anyone ever tried using garden centre topsoil instead of Leam on the rivers? A very large bag of topsoil can be bought for a few pounds where as a 3 kilo bag of Leam is about £4. I know anglers that use molehill soil- it's the same isn't it? Thanks Phil.

Try sedge peat , you can get it from reptile shops it will need riddling before use and is as good as anything

I used to use black peat for many years when Squatt fishing, I riddled it fine, and would make up some very sloppy (runny) brown crumb, then stiffen it up with the peat and filled it with Squatts, till it was stiff enough to throw in small balls,
