Altough the weights look good they are in fact poor for Rolfs.

like Dave says them weights are very poor for rolfs but altho it kicks out 200lb or 300lb or 400 lb bags it also kicks out DNWs as well so dont think you are ever garanteed to bag um

About an hour to go on the second day Keith on peg 20 hooked and played a big carp. His elastic broke and he obviously lost the fish and his rig.
I was pegged at the other end of the lake on peg 38 and was blanking. Simple was on the next peg to me just round the corner. 15 minutes after Keith lost his fish my float finally went under and I struck in what was obviously a big fish.
I played it very carefully as it was likely to be my only fish. after a while I started to get it towards the surface and was expecting to see it. NOTHING not even a swirl on the surface. Finally some thing came up it was a length of elastic with a rig attached.
I carried on playing the fish even more carefully fully expecting my hook to pull out at any time and eventually netted it ( well almost netted it as its tail was hanging over the end of my net). It went 17lb 8oz a new PB and the biggest fish of the weekend.
My hook had gone into the loop of the other rig where it attached to the stonflo. Someone took the rig back to Keith and confirmed it was the one he had lost earlier.
It takes a very special skillful angler to deliberately hook that little loop rather than the easier method of hooking the fish.

Well done on your pb mate now that's what i call good angling, you shouldn't have give him his rig back tell Keith to get some middy shock core 18 to 22 triple latex blue it stretches for miles and will never snap. well done again. That's the thing with fishing you can be a top angler or a crap one but you can not take away the luck aspect.

Are you inferring that it was luck hooking that fish. It was pure skill I tell you, even Simple will back me up on that
Keith did say that he should have half of the biggest fish prize as he half played the fish out for me.
My response was "Well if you were a half decent angler Keith then you would have landed the fish yourself"
We were both joking but I just couldnt resist.
The MDs Pairs is a brilliant weekend with some of the friendliest anglers around. Cant wait for this years.

yes, but the bad news is those who fished it the year before get an invite to fish it first. If by any chance anyone of the invited cant make it or dont want to fish it again then the space/ spaces get offered to first come first serve
