Grueller 7 - White Roses rule
13 gruellerites turned up for this match, fished on the Priory section at Armitage. I pegged out, giving everyone 25 of my twinkle toes paces (Thanks OBI).
No wind, and a nice colour, but the water was bloody freezing after the thaw, so it could turn in to a proper grueller
Got back to the draw to see a few "old faces" in Digger, Mark O and Big Baz, welcome back lads
Fed a punch line, a choppie/caster line, and a squatt/gb line. Started on the whip and punch, having a few little un's for the first 45 minutes. A peek to my left saw KOD netting a perch, while Big Col to my right seemed very quiet, and not doing a lot of shipping so head down and concentrate. The weather was evil, with torrential rain for the first couple of hours.
After 2 hours, a boat came through from the left, immediately followed by a bright yellow one who seemed determined to catch up with the first boat :surprise :surprise. Big Col gave the boater the full volley of "niceties" which I am sure TK could have heard under his duvet back in Great Wyrley. All pegs wiped out by one stupid moron with a boat :fisticuffs.
Took me half an hour to tempt fish back on the squatt line, but after 15 minutes having a fish a chuck, along came Esox Lucius, who erupted twice in the swim in 10 minutes . Managed to build the swim back up and had a decent last half hour, catching half ounce roach every drop in
The tale of the scales:
Peg 1. Phil B. 0-15-11
Peg 2. Bluse4eva 0-14-3
Peg 3. Trevor B. 1-5-0 :surprise Nice one Trev
Peg 4. Mark O. 1-11-2
Peg 5. Mike E. 1-4-2
Peg 6. KOD. 1-10-0 Well and truly Yorked again
Peg 7. MrV. 3-1-2
Peg 8. Big Col. D-N-W :surprise
Peg 9. Yamo. 1-1-1
Peg 10. Tricast. 2-8-6
Peg 11. Big Baz. 1-9-0
Peg 12. Digger. 2-4-12
Peg 13. OBI. 1-1-1
So a Yorky 1-2 to start the New Year of gruellers. Thanks to all for turning up and being entertaining as usual

As I was loading up the car talking to Obi a big 4+4 pulls up
and a chap comes over giving me the 3rd degree. Was there a match ,have u booked the water ,after telling him that we had all
pages a day ticket he told me that several clubs had been fishing
n no money had been collected. He asked how many had fished n shot off. Looks like that bailiffs been having a drink on us.

The bailiff is defo from Coors AC mate, so think the guy in the 4x4 was pulling your string....it wasn't your friendly boaters mafia mates by any chance

I had a proper grueller today , still cant find a perch.
Broke my wheel on my barrow then had to sit through an armardour goin through my peg.one particular gentleman (fat test)
Tanking through,I'm afraid he had to have it,only verbal as I'm too
old and the wrong side of 15 stone to be jumping on boats these days but that was my match over.
Congrats to Mr v on another fine performance n thanks to everyone
who turned up on a miserable day. Even big bad stayed the duration for which he received a big hand off all the lads

No he wasn't a boater Paul from the questions he was asking
I would say he was from Coors . He was concerned about revenue
not being collected?

OBI was in Brereton and his missus kept passing him cups of tea over the fence yesterday
Believe me ...I would of soon passed my gear over the fence to the boss if she had turned up..
:surprise
Did anybody else notice a health and safety issue around peg 8...loads of trip hazards ..what with all the dummies spat out/toys threw out of the cot littering the floor
wont say much about the match coz I was shite..AGAIN... but went back to give big Col a lift with his gear seeing as his pram trolly had lost a wheel. offered to carry his rod back....Jeeeez how heavy can 1 rod back be ....Nearly as heavy as TTV,s wallet
TK thought he had a long walk last time we were up the Priory....OBI was in Brereton
Thought twinkle toes Vernon (TTV) pegged out ..must of caught the number 49 bus to put my peg in
Best bit of the day for me was when Big Col called out 1-1-1 for yamo at weigh in.. ....love it
And lastly....even though he was on peg 2...Blues was on an end peg in my book by default because peg 1 was allocated pre match as a short walk

I know Paul I'm even getting a little embarrassed
I did have a little chuckle to myself when I pulled 2 out knowing 1was already allocated :
If you've got ant tips for keeping big perch on the hook can you let be know I lost 2 again on Saturday
