Winter League round 2 results
QUORN AS TOP THE WINTER LEAGUE AFTER ROUND 2
SOAR VALLEY WINTER LEAGUE ON THE RIVER SOAR 9 teams of ten anglers take part and is the biggest winter league in the country with many of the countries top anglers taking part . Quorn are using all their local knowledge to stay a head of there nearest rivals Kamasan Starlets a new team to the event . Starlets managed to win round 2 with a total of 45 points but Quorn being very consistent having been second in round 1 and now second in round 2 have taken a early lead with 4 points and with four matches to go this league is far from over . Individually Pete Hamilton of loughborough soar had a great days fishing on the Abbey section catching Chub Dace and Roach on pole and stick float for 11kg 600g [around 24 lb ] to take first place . Lee Wright Trentmen only just missed out with 11kg 050g for second again Lee found roach and Dace on the abbey section

Tommy Boyce Jnr is the new Wreake champion with 13lb 8oz from the grand union canal at foxton Tommy had a mixed bag of roach skimmers and perch all on the pole . 2nd Pat wood Melton Tackle managed a bonus Tench and a few perch and roach for 10lb 12oz . On the whole the canal fished well although the wind had pushed a lot of leaves onto the water

Just out of interest looking over the results
338kgs and 445 g was the total weight caught in sundays winter league match around 746 lbs thats a average of 8lb 2oz per anglers
I think brian wants a pat on the back why move any sections with results like that . It has to be the best league in the country without doubt
