im fishing the Rolls-Royce national on the 30th.
I've not fished hemmo for a while, could anyone update me on whats been going on, on moat recently?
Baits, methods ect...
Also, does anyone have charlie shaws number?

Hard pellet, 6 mils 6m and long, maggot or gbait down the edge. It's worth on some pegs having a line for crucians as it's full of them and they average a pound, fish expanders or maggots for them 4metres.
I've got Charlies number but apart from the Crucians he'll tell you exactly the same.

Oh and do you know any teams on it who need anyone. (I'm an ex employee so I'm allowed to fish! )

15 to 27, you always were a draw bag .
forget meat. don't go too mad with feed cos there's a million small skimmers in it and you'll get pestered.
some toss pot it some catapult, you'll have to work out whats best on the day.

might catch a few shallow on the island but I would def set on up cos last week I fished peg 17 ( only pleasure fishing) and while fishing 6 m with pellet and catching a few on the deck, I saw a few swirls and put a shallow rig up and had maybe 40 crucians 18 inches deep in an hour.
definitely on the pegs your on start short for crucians

yeah, I wouldn,t use any nicrosunless it was too windy for the pole and you had to fish the feeder. yeah, hard 6 mils.

if I was fishing all I would have on my bait tray is 6 mils, dead maggs and groundbait,

you can catch the crucians on pea sized bits of paste, that does work on all the lakes

Tafty, much to my delight surface baits are banned
6m line is bang on mate, picks out those proper carp!
Been down last firday and today and had between 50-70lb in 4-5 hours both days, so feeling confident.
Worked something out too as a little plan, so hopefully when it goes quiet during the day, which no doubtably it will at some point i can still wingle out some of those smaller carp and crucians to bump my weight while those other lads sit it out.

I agree mate.
Paste and pellet picks out the chunky crucians while my 6mm banded line rests.
I found that you could have 2-3 proper fish off that 6mm line then it would go a bit quiet, nick a few crucians and smaller carp then back on that other line.
The length of hooklength and how your dropper are placed as ABSOLUTELY crucial on moat as you lose so many fish you hook if you have the rig set too sensitive!
Its crazy the difference it makes.
I lost 4 proper fish on that 6mm line in as many chucks, then changed my shotting patter and never lost one.
It gives them a better chance of hooking them properly in the lip.
But yeah, come down if possible mate, would be great to see you again.
