The practice match for the Oxford summer league was fished by 40 anglers on the Medley and Folly stretches of the Thames in Oxford. With the hot sunny weather and little wind the match was always going to be hard and this was made worse when vast shoals of bream on Medley decided to spawn.
st Pete Scott - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 15lb 10oz. Pete made the most of a draw at the top of the poplars on Medley and had 3 breams plus skimmers and perch on groundbait feeder and worm.
nd Mick Denton - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 14lb 11oz. Mick drew end peg on Folly by the cottages and had roach and perch on the pole and maggot over groundbait.
rd Darren Wright - Sensas A4 - 14lb 7oz. Darren drew 1 above the Fancy bridge at Folly and had bream and perch on the pole and chop worm.
th Geoff Lewendon - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 13lb 14oz
th Dave Kirk - Isis - 11lb 4oz.
