Close Season Dilemma

Alright lads,

Been thinking about joining this forum for some time after it consistently coming up in search results when I've been after some info on google. I recognise a few names and plus everyone on here seems top, so finally succumbed earlier this evening!  Image

I'm based in Cheshire/ South Manchester and nearly all of my fishing this winter has revolved around the Weaver, which is handy as its directly behind my college and so I'm never too far away from a few fish. I've had a reasonable time on it lately, with a few wins and frames on various opens and team events over the past couple of months. Over closed season I'm going to try and hopefully broaden my horizons a bit, with Rudyard and Carr Mill definite possibilities after chatting to some of the regulars on the river.

The main problem for me though, is finding a venue which is fairly local (obvs Rudyard is not but I can jump in with someone who fishes it) and somewhere that would not need loads of prep as I've got exams around May/ June. The T&M around Middlewich is a venue that has repeatedly crossed my mind, as I have seen some superb turnouts when flicking through the match results in the back of Anglers Mail, and plus I know the Northwich sections (i.e Billinge to Farm Road) quite well so think I'd be able, with a bit of luck, to adapt fairly quickly.

While this is great in theory, I have absolutely contacts, and crucially no idea if there even are odd opens that I'd be able to fish over closed season  :-? ???

Hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction, even if its to any other matches in the area this spring! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Cheers, Breamslayer

the first Question you will be asked is whether yourr from the Blue half or the red half Manchester Image Image Image Image Image
As you will find out soonplus a few southerners might think the balance is tipping towards the north now Image Image Image
I sure you will enjoy the banter and the advice Image Image Image

There is a popular Spring League around the Middlewich area of the T&M Canal.
Dates are: March 30, April 13, April 27, May 11 and June 1.

I don't fish this one so I am not too sure who runs it, - if you send Preecy a message I am sure he will help you out.

You generally need to get in pretty quick on this pne, - it is a team match but there are usually places available.
