GREAT IDEA a long the lines of bills topic great to see so many young anglers turning out on a cold damp January day
Youngsters enjoy natural venue success.
Despite a rainy, cold winters morning, more than 25 junior anglers lined the banks of the Stainforth & Keadby Canal last Saturday to take part in two separate taster sessions, aimed at introducing younger anglers to bloodworm fishing. After four fish filled hours, almost all went happy home happy with between five and 10lb of quality canal silverfish.
Pole Fishing’s Tom Scholey and Matt Godfrey were on hand to help, along with Ultimate Barnsley aces Nick Speed and Frankie Gianoncelli. Matt, who is a member of the England youth team himself, commented: “It was great to see so many young faces on the canal – and more importantly, they were all really enjoying themselves. Tom and myself had agreed to take some of our younger friends for the day, and when we got there we found a host more young anglers fishing with Nick Speed and Frankie Gianoncelli on the Talent Pathway programme.
Thankyou Pole fishing magazine
