Sorry Barrow boy Brian sent them to me but i've been out the office until today :-/ :-/
After a lovely day on the saturday the conditions changed dramatically with rain and blustery winds making pole fishing hard to control .The river looked a good level with a nice colour and most thought the skimmers and bream might have a pop [choppy was bang on what he had said in a earlier post :-[] It wasn't to be and for the likes of Rob Wootton Joe Roberts Malc Mott our drawing arms had let us down again we all drew as far away from the better pegs as you could with the only glimmer of hope for Dave Petch on the end peg that might find a few fish just because its a end peg. the drawbags and the usual suspects all draw the good area Image Image
One angler Vince Cunningham had traveled from London to fish and drew the famous 64 peg which i'm pretty sure has won 3 or 4 matches and the same amount of Soar championships so there was no pressure Image Image
Talking through the peg it was quite simple perch perch perch 4m 8m as you couldn't hold a pole any further .The match was probably the hardest match we have ever fished down on the length but it was a match where you felt you were only 2 or 3 bites away from winning with the number of big fish in the river .
still it didn't happen for us at our end Dave petch did have his chances and won the section yet it was the Londoner that took the glory Vince had had three bites all match one was a 4oz perch the other two were also perch and both went over 3lb each for a total of 6lb 12oz it was a day for the odd big perch as most of the frame had one .
Result
1st Vince cunningham Midland Angling Supplies 6lb 12oz
2nd was a tie Richie Reynolds Baitec and Colin Beech Quorn AS both 3lb 13oz
4th Tom pringle Wigston AS 3lb 12.8oz
5th Roger Marlow Drennan Leicester 3lb 12oz
6th Mark Perkins Matrix Trentmen 3lb 8oz mark was the only angler to put a few bits together i'm pretty sure he said 71 small fish :D :D
Brian didn't run a team match as the turnout was not as good as expected but the lads that did turn up raised a cool £160.00 to cancer research so a very big well done Image Image Image
