True to the Irish weather i got blown off the crappity smack bank yesterday Image Image peg was solid with roach perch and hybrids though. Should a won the match but ran out of bait, as soon as the shell stopped so did the bites, half gallon not enough to keep em, never fed that many through a feeder here but 6pint was needed, match was won with 23k, given conditions that was a good weight, i had 18and half, they haven't done result but with the rumours I've heard i.m 4th. Few bream started to show yesterday as well

Just got back from Muckno, - probably best festival there ever. What a venue, must be the best roach venue in the world, by some way.
We were picking up other weights from all over the country and the north but the top scores would figure here. bwst weight of the week was 97 lb 8 oz, one bream, 20 lb of roach sized hybrids and the rest all roach.
Fish were caught on whip, sometimes ar two metres to any length of pole out, depending where the shelf started. Mainly 4-5 metres whip with caster or maggot.
The odd peg saw feeder catches (where the shelf was far out or snaggy) even then they went to 75 lbs.

Roach heaven. Image Image Image

Night time were good an 'all 4am latest Image

I had 40 lb on a couple of the days, all roach - only good enough for halfway up the section Image Image

Pro rata never seen so many 20 kilos roach weight in me life. Image Image Image Image

Spoke to Andy in charlies bar Enniskillen yesterday, said it was black with fish, quite the opposite to the pairs last year where the same sections threw up a fair few blanks Image Image him and his mate shared some 250k to win on weight after a points tie, some exceptional fishing to say the least and glad you enjoyed it Bill Image Image

For us, the combination of using most the same sections for the pairs ( of which threw mega weights up themselves where 40k won a section and 22k was last in it, and others 35k to win and 18k last :o :o ) added to the truly shocking weather that literally blew us off the bank for 3 days Image Image left some tough fishing to be had, not able to present your gear properly, couldn't fish poles when we had to, fish backing off from such an hammering the list against us was endless. That said it was a tight competition and there was still fish to be caught, 68k winning by 200gram, 67k 3rd and 62k last in the top 7 frame. Nobody on our drawn rotation was anywhere near Image Image so that put pay to my festival. Got over the first day net ripped shocker that would of put me at worst 2nd in section :'( won section at airport tuesday and had 3 more 2nd in section from the wrong ends so not done 3 bad. Scrapped in 4th on the Sunday open so picked a few beer tokens up Image Image all in all we had some great craaaaaaaack, 1am through to 3am for the full 8 days, who could argue with that?? :-/ :-/ Image Image Image Image Image

Don't think I'll ever see Muckno fish like that again but you never know.
I fished the Erne when there were massive weights of roach but it was nowt like this. You needed the right draw and depth on the Erne.
It was roach soup at Muckno, one lad had 23 kilo odd on his top two at Concra.
Last year was the worst it has been. No venue on earth could stand all the slate that was being dumped and manoevred to make for the pegs and roads in. Those posts that went in were done by a massive pnuematic machine thingy that vibrated for miles.
The furthest I walked this year was three pegs!!!!!!!! Image
Heaven only knows what weights will come off Muckno next week Image Image Image Image

Parked behind my peg once as we used Garadice, short walk at Airport as I drove through bottom carpark and right up to peg before point, Killadeas the same old drop gear off, remove van then walk through wood ( peg 10 last week ) Crom River was kind to me, drew 3 then 2 so only couple hundred yard, Crom lake was the awkward one, 200 yard hill then 200 yard through occasional sludge Image Image

Draws were needed in each section on each day but the rotation was the key part, and more sickening than that the right rotation was 1 behind us, so we had it rough all week but fed it up well for the others to bag up Image Image
