Don't know what the problem is!!! Harry ( deluded ) Redknap reckons 5 of England's team would get into Germanys first choice 11.( what a pr*t)

I agree about there being too many foreigners etc but we weren't any gud when we didn't have any foreigners.

ie the too many foreingers in the premier league issue .....

The whole of the Belgium squad now play there football in the Premier League and they are now a top top team so the Belgium players have flourished in our English league ..... so have Bale and Ramsey who unfortunately are Welsh . The French are going well so are Argentina and the Spanish who all have lots of their national squad players playing in the English Premier League . So what has happened to our very own English  players ?

The argument for there arent enough English players doesnt stack up for me and the FA are rolling in dosh and we have all the facilities for the youth system , academies , centers of excellence etc etc and we are still sh!te !

ooops forgot about the proper German players playing in the English Premier League aswell Image Image Image :D

50% of Spanish squad play in Spain as well
Also Spain, France and Germany have considerably more coaches than we have throughout their youth systems
We have unqualified but well meaning ex amateur players coaching our kids
Spain recognised that 20 years ago, so did Germany
Coaching early is the key

For the first 40 mins I thought we harried and closed down better than against the Chileans the other night, although we were playing a German 2nd X1...........

But we never looked like troubling them. OK it wasn’t exactly our first string out either, as it was a ‘friendly’ (if such thing exists against the Germans) - but there again I’m not sure what our first 11 is these days.

Couldnt believe when they got 3 ‘unchallenged’ headers in within the space of a minute with the 3rd un going in – cant we defend crosses these days?

Townsend – hadn’t got a clue who he was a month ago – livened things up a tad, but as things progressed with no sign of us creating much elsewhere I started to think this was another England team similar to the early 90s – probably cuss Smalling started reminding me of Carlton Palmer of that England era

Will we get out of the group stages........? Not looking good considering some of the other unseeded teams we might come up against

Its not just a case of how qualified they are, has been or present in terms of training staff and coaches, other countries have discipline from youth and that is KEY!!

Take the current holders for example, whilst on holiday in spain a couple of years ago just up from the hotel was a training ground with standard pitches, artificial pitches, training aids, changing rooms etc, kids from about 6 to 16 were on there every morning before school and every tea time afterwards, constantly training set pieces, skills and stamina work etc. What does the average kid back home get? If they are lucky they get an hour a week after school and as for an actual piece of training if they are lucky they get a parent that's jumped through hoops to get a permit to work with kids, a few cones and plastic posts over a local field full of dog sh!t, hour of kick the ball like an headless chicken on a Saturday and then a game on a Sunday. Yes we have youth academies if kids progress but the percentage is very minimal and the cost to a parent is way way beyond the average purse. Does the future of any English football really just rely on the premiership?? Not entirely, arguably that's the place they should end up but without a massive investment into youth, there will never be any and all the " decent players " that big money clubs want to buy in will always be foreign Image Image

It takes a combination of qualified coaches, good facilities and a concentration on basic skills.
Some of our players can't pass 10 yards
We have some good young players as well - under 21s flying in their group but when they and not to mention the first team cannot get regular first team football then what hope have we got?

spot on joff, its all about having pride in playing for your country, you,ve only got to watch how the England rugby team sing the national anthem compared to our football team (who looked like they didn,t know the words) even gerrard didn,t look as if he could be bothered singing it

cant we defend crosses these days?

We haven't been able to defend crosses for years TK. Smalling is not a good enough player. When they scored Mertasucker was surrounded by Cleverly, Rooney and Smalling.....none of who are tough enough. I don't think he would have got in the header as easily if Cahill or Terry had been marking him.
As supporters we always do the same thing, criticise the team after a disappointing performance in a friendly. Friendlies are a waste of time. They disrupt players weekly job (playing PL football). If they are going to disrupt the PL fixtures, why not have the friendlies against a PL side. For example, England v Man City, with no City players in the England team. That way you would see how fringe squad players perform against our own National team.
I believe we haven't got the talent in our own team, and we don't have individual flair players who can turn a game with the odd bit of brilliance. Why managers leave Defoe on the bench amazes me. I am not a Spurs fan, but that lad scores goals for fun in the PL and Europe.

Can't see this 'Passion for England' ever coming off. most of them couldn't give two crappity smack as long as they do enough training to pick their crappity smack cheques up.
