River soar on fire [practice match for W/L

What a match conditions far from good with the river at an all time low gin clear and with the sun shining and bring out the boats it looked very doubtful that the river would fish very well
sections used waterside,1860 and the greens and the be fair the match could of been won from any of these sections.I was disappointed in the turn out for saying its the last match before the winter league starts but again the papers let me down in printing this match :-/those anglers that turn up had a real treat. after working out the pegs out on the morning so i could still pay out on five peg sections as i think its important to include that not area is going to good as others and at least your taking something home if it only covers the petrol Image Image
Up and coming youngster Joe oaks of wigston had a dream days fishing Joe had drawn a area that he knows well and made his favourite bait hemp dance a merry tune .Joe started as he finished taking fish all day even with heavy boat traffic it didnt seam to put the fish off .It was very noticable when i weighed in that Joes fish were of a different class weighing roach of a pound and half hybrids of pound for a total of 25lb 3oz  :o :o[i hope welsh taffy see this Image]

Joe had drawn the 1860 which i had drawn the other end

yep near another bridge TK  ::) ::) ::)
AS YOU CAN SEE ITS A LOVELY PART OF THE RIVER SOAR and this year ive managed to get parking in the field cutting down on the walking  Image Image

Image

the whole section fish well as did the other two areas i just couldn't get down to take a few photos.but please forward any pictures onto me and i will post them  Image Image
Adey reynolds of Quorn queers Image took 2nd place Adey is having a great run of form on the rivers and the commercials and is one angler that cant wait for the winter league to start .i spoke to adey after the match and was surprised when he said he'd caught a lot of fish on pinkies normally he's a hemphead

Image Image Adey finished up with 15lb 13oz off the greens which brought a rare smile to his face after the match  Image Image

yours truely finished 3rd i had a lovely days fishing again from start to finish bites of bleak roach and perch drawn oppisite a pub didn't help as quiet a few friends turned up and a few behind me which all added to the day .fishing hemp and pinkie from 8 to 13 metres

with my new  :o :o rigs they work  Image

Image

by the end of the match i managed a crowd assisted 14lb 8oz and the added pressure of a peg to peg battle with my own team mate Mark the chopped worm head who weighed a slack 12lb  Image :o and Pete marlow the wizard who had a lovely net of its 11lb odd

Image

both still owe me a mars bar  Image Image Image Image Image Image
and to cap it all my little princess dumper truck came down and fished after

Image

the back up weights were brilliant with9lb being 10th in the match and 4lb 7oz being last
i hope everyone is looking forward to the winter league if the river stays the same it will be roach soup or perch stew or tench grill

Took a walk up the waterside today where everyone thinks there are no fish top end of the bridge
Only had pinkies and it was a roach a chuck I just think it's a great season for roach a couple of lads came up to me and started talking about the river they had been fishing on the brinks and caught next to nothing but did pull a net out that stretched across the river Image Image so there back the poachers so keep your eyes open
