I just thought i would report on the great days sport we had yesterday on the last round of our Summer League.
Fortunately the sections we fished,Greens and Potters were not affected by the horrific pollution suffered last year.
This was the last of a series of 6 matches Long Eaton Fed have every season .Thanks to Notts AA and Cotmanhay who this year provided the waters for us as our stretch at Dockholme had suffered from the pollution last year.
Although i can report that there are fish being stocked slowly back into Dockholme and L E VIC waters at Tamworth Road. This is an ongoing process with the EA and Canal rivers trust.
Back to yesterdays match which was won by Matlocks Mark Wain which included a 13lb 8oz Common.Being a big lad Mark had spotted a few carp cruising and set about looking to ambush one .setting up 20s elastic and lobby one of them obliged and it was basically match over although the backing weights were also tremendous with other big fish playing there part on the day .
Full Result
1. Mark Wain Matlock AC 14LB 12oz ,including 13lb 80z common carp.
2.Sam Barker Ilkeston 10lb 14oz ,10 perch up to 1lb 8oz.
3.Dave Fowler Matlock AC 10LB 5oz ,included 4lb bream.2lb tench and 2 big perch.
4.Alan Wright Long Eaton Fed 9lb 14oz ,included 2 x 2lb Tench
5.Mark Parker Long Eaton Fed 9lb 4oz ,included 5lb 8oz Bream 1st chuck
6.Pete Allwood Long Eaton Fed 7lb 12oz ,included 2lb 8oz Crucian .
Out of 20 anglers fished over 95lb of fish were caught on the day, which i think constitutes a very good match.
All matches fished have been supported by 20 odd anglers or more and considering the weather has fished quite well .
Mark
