Wreake canal championshipsThis years event took place on the grand union around the Foxton and for the first time the championship had a sponsor who provided all the trophies .63 anglers turned out from all over the country yet it was a local angler that stole the day. Brian Hoyles Wreake AS had drawn the Deb-Dale section of the canal in the early numbers not normally a good area Brian catch was made up of Skimmers and Perch for a total of 11lb 10oz all caught on the pole over pinkies and worm [Brian as photographed with his catch] 2nd in the match went to Andy Swift of Browning Andy had three big perch to 2lb and a few Skimmers for a toatal of 10lb 9oz 3rd spot went to Roger Marlow Drennan/sensas with 9lb 9oz Roger was left counting the cost of a lost fish late on in the match

Adey Reynolds of Quorn AS[as shown in photo] exstended his good form by winning the latest match on the river soar Adey managed 13kg 150g of Bream from a rising river to take top spot Adey fished feeder with double red maggots or worm to take eight good bream . 2nd another angler in great form Joe Oaks of Wigston AS this time Joe had a good run of Chub to 4lb for a total weight of 9kg 800g taking 3rd spot was Neil fisher Long Eaton with 8kg 080g
