Just been down the Donno lake Taff, rob and Sam are both fishing a slider and catching bream and skimmers quite regular. Mark was there and I was saying to him if they could get the Donno lake to the same standard as the carp lake (silverfish wise) he would get a 30 to 40 peg match every week over the winter ;)

i know mate, there's loadsa silvers in there and also a lot in the old canal too.

there's loads ofsilvers in all the lakes to be honest, i fished on his carp match on the moat the otherweek and the skimmers are gettin a lot bigger in there too, i could catch them for fun.

maybe next winter we cud have a couple of matches just to see what cud be caught on the other lakes.

It would be interesting taf, think it would work and the anglers would come as there arn't really any matches round our way on Saturdays in the winter. Ok there is the Erewash but that has seen better days, and a lot of people were moaning this year. I really believe he could get a great silverfish winter league on there. He could even use three lakes and fish them on a rotation say one week 10 on the carp lake then the next those 10 move to the Donno and so on, food for thought maybe?? All it would take is a little advertisement in magazines etc and I bet you would have at least 30 names on a list, in fact I bet I could think of 30 people who would fish it now so he would probably get more. I'm gonna have another word with him when the evening matches start again and try and get things off the ground, I would even help run it. Image
