Drennan use to make a hard plastic pair of pliers; they were only about £1 and did the job better.
I had a pair for donkeys of years but they went missing.
I am using a steel pair now but far prefer the originals
Plastic ones were perfect for number 13s

Ta for thinking of me Joffie but since watching that clip I've had a mooch in the father in laws tool box and found a similar diddy pair of pliers
