Hilarious isn't it. Was on the FishingMagic forum.
Now realise Steve Hemingray won individual European Gold rather than World Gold, though he is a World Champ team member......and there isn't much difference is there as there isnt a lot of competition outside Europe

WHAT A LINE UP FOR THE RIVER FEST FINAL
Made me laugh on another forum, someone commented that apart from Dave Harrell they had never heard of any other qualifiers and was therefore asking whether this compared to other "big" matches. I did put him right pointing out there were several England internationals and 2 world champions in the ...

BLUE ARMY BOOOM !!!!!
Very true mate, all well and good drawing with the Evertons and Arsenals but it's the Palace and Burnley games we need to win to be secure, and put those teams down in the relegation zone!
Still, early days but yes, looking good to avoid being a yo yo team!

Hooklengths for running line
Whilst I too use a micro swivel I am never convinced that it actually rotates as it should in such circumstances. Accept that a swivel attached to a lead or lure would have enough resistance to impart the rotating motion, but would a short length of line attached to a small baited hook be enough to ...

BLUE ARMY BOOOM !!!!!
Fellow Fox here Joff.......although moved back down South 12 months ago so struggle to get along to the KP now (and it's so damn hard to get tickets!). Great start to the season though Saturday was the first disappointment. Need to be winning those games really, even though we had some great results ...

Hooklengths for running line
In the last few years I have been converted to hooklength boxes to make hooklengths all the same length. Now use a Frenzee box which I rate. As a result my method hooklengths are 4"; pole hooklengths 6" and float hooklengths 12". For the feeder I do sometimes tie longer lengths. Only put shot on the ...

Hooklengths for running line
Cheers Sam, funnily enough I have some if that, but didn't have it with me and only had it tied up to short pole hooklengths. Will give it a go, thanks.

Hooklengths for running line
After a few years with not a lot of fishing, and after dabbling a bit for big carp, I have moved and am fairly close to the Thames, a river I haven't fished that much. A session on the Severn a few weeks ago has rekindled my interest in rivers after commies and canals have been the mainstay for the ...

Best ever Trent angler
I'm pretty sure the article about Johnny Moult is in Coarse Angler, late 70s; I have got it somewhere but in a mess at the moment researching the Likely Lads. One of his favourite floats was a porcupine quill with a hairgrip roughly bound to it with a bit of lead wire, fished bottom end only. Would ...

Best ever Trent angler
Long before I ever fished the Trent (being a southerner although I did love it and made regular trips in the 80's) I was captivated by a Match Fishing article on Johnny Moult. The guy carried all his shot mixed in a tin, had no idea whether his battered stick was shotted with 6's or 4's, was using ...

Best pole roller
For the reasons Phil mentions you may want to consider the Matrix roller as it can be used with the legs folded, via some additional ground spikes, making it good for sloping banks.
I have one though to date have not had to use the spikes. Just a tad over your budget for the standard version.

I fished that Shroppy national too, for Tiverton AC and likewise remember how moving it was on the whistle.
Also recall fishing an open on the Tiverton Canal on the morning that she died and the atmosphere was so subdued, no one could believe the news that had broken overnight.

New seat box......space station compact?
Already bitten the bullet guys and bought one after seeing it in Fosters. Used it in a match yesterday and really pleased. Needed something compact as I have a saloon for now. Comfy seat, nice and stable although the footplate is small. Drawers slide smoothly and catches are secure. Like the ...

New seat box......space station compact?
Right guys, my boss compact has finally packed up today. After over 20 years of faithful service I was unable to resurrect it though I tried to replace the toggle clips but the wood was split and soft and so am now in the market for a new box. Like the look of the SS compact....know it's plastic but ...

NAME AND SHAME
Not sure about this initiative, and have read criticisms elsewhere on forums. Issues for me are: We don't name and shame more serious criminals in this way. What is it to do with the Angling Trust? Are all licence proceeds reinvested into angling as claimed? Doesn't publishing venue details give ...

CLOSED SEASON
Feel for you guys who focus on rivers...why should you pay for 3 months off! Seems like the environmental rationale for a close season is diminishing and it is accepted that spawning rarely coincides with the close. For me I don't fish quite as much as I used to, so not every week, and whilst I don ...

Meadowlands (Lambsdown) nr Coventry
Evening guys, Sat here browsing while watching Holland Spain....good game so far and no refereeing howlers so far! Anyway, have a small works club match next week at Meadowlands (Lambsdown). Have found a bit of info but was wondering if anyone on here has any recent experience or info on methods etc ...
