To be totally honest I have never used gravel with liquidised bread-- I dont normally fish deep waters, so I cant really comment on that.
I know lots of folks swear by it, but in my opinion its more phycological that practical,, as in my opinion, using my liquidised,it would seperate on the way down ...

I used to use black peat for many years when Squatt fishing, I riddled it fine, and would make up some very sloppy (runny) brown crumb, then stiffen it up with the peat and filled it with Squatts, till it was stiff enough to throw in small balls,
