My old brilo box.
I know how you feel Lee, I haven't been fishing for 3 years now. I too started from a very young age and started competing at 10 years old on club matches. I was bought up on Rivers, natural pools and canals. I have fished alongside the best of the best up and down the country and in the Nationals ...

River Blythe, advice needed please
I was a member of Coleshill Ac for about 8 years and fished Division 1 Nationals with them. I used to fish the opens on the Blythe and if you draw the right pegs you can't help but catch, the record weight was 90lbs of Chub from about 3ft of water, amazing. Sometimes the fish would stop biting so a ...

This looked like a great match and a great day out with a great bunch of lads. It makes me realise what I'm missing and want to get back into it

Thanks for that TK. Block it off both ends and fill it full of Carp and you'll have a waiting list to fish matches there. Sad way fishing has gone in my opinion but that's what people seem to want.

Nice bag of fish Andy. I must admit, every time I go over that bridge it looks very inviting. Do you get mouch trouble with kids and yobbo's there?
If there are any evening matches there any time I might have a bash. http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/forum2/images/converted_files/yabbfiles ...

First open for a long, long time - Evesham
Nice read Mark.
I'll be making a comeback on the rivers soon, I cleaned all my gear this Sunday and Evesham is one of places I shall be going, not on matches to start though, I need to get my bearings back first. You might not catch 100lbs of Carp on the rivers but 10lbs of Roach is far more ...

Rolling Mill St and the Wharfe have seen better days I can tell you. in the winter you always needed 5lbs to win and 4lbs was a possibility off any peg. I think it's time for a change down there, what's the point of only 6 turning up, it's messing with the averages straight away isn't it. I shall ...

Shrewsbury Open Matches
Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me what dates the Shrewsbury Opens are on the County Ground and Quarry? I'm thinking of having a bash on them as the style of fishing is right up my street.
I'd like to go and walk the first match though to find out where the car parks are for the relevant sections ...

Hi mate
Cheers for that. Hereford is a little far out for us to venture but thanks all the same. I did an investigation last night with my team at the Dudley Canal Tunnels. We found no ghosts as usual but had a great time trying. http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/forum2/images/converted_files ...

I may not be on this one. I have a chance of a free place on a charity ghost hunt at Alton Towers and a chance like this doesn't come my way very often. I'll be saving about £95 as a guest.
If it doesn't come off though I'll be there doing what I do best which is putting a waggler down the middle ...

My heart isn't in it at the moment mate, I can't be bothered to do any prep or homewrok and it does show in my results, I've never fished so bad lol, I feel I'm just throwing money down the drain at the mo although I do enjoy the banter on the day.
