I was fishing once a fortnight for most of last year with some decent results across club matches, open matches , fishing trips etc.
Came 3rd in the Monks Summer league last summer just ounces behind 2nd! >:(
Got myself a new PB match weight at Todber Manor on a ...

Re: Monk lake 1. Saturday 10th April 2021
Sign me up please Mr Chairman! Kyle won’t be in attendance as it’s his better half’s birthday (also known as Si’s daughter). I’ve pinged John Drake to see if he fancies it too.
Happy to give a hand pegging it, do we know what we're being given, or is it numbers dependant?
As mentioned on the ...

Re: Club Match Bookings 2021
Hi! TBC on whether I’ll be joining or paying guest fees yet, as lots of dates in the diary and a busy year already. Once we have some venues booked in I can confirm.
Would definitely be up for fishing Woods and Stepfield - not sure if it’s stepfield old or new but the first lake you come to on your ...

Re: Top Kits
Obviously the next question to ask is, if I'm looking to buy a new pellet feeder reel, what line choice to I go with. Had 8lb on b4 but couldn't tell you what type of line I had. So what line do you people reckon???? :tiphat :tiphat :thumsup
I like the 8lb Guru Pulse Pro for feeder & bomb work ...

Re: Top Kits
2.5m does my top kits with a side puller and leaves a little bit spare. 2m is only good for the short shallow kits.naughtycockney wrote: November 3rd, 2020, 2:21 pm would it be 2.0/2.5m does one top kit or would 3.0m do two top kits???

Re: Top Kits
If you’re looking to lighten them up I’d go:
2 x white
2 x green
3 x black
3 x red
That way you’re covered for the slightly lighter f1/carp stuff as well as silvers, then black for your general carp and red if more muscles needed.
I use 2.5m for a standard size top kit with a side puller, and ...

Re: Prospective membership and venues for 2021
Hi Dave, for the new venue category I’ve had a bit of a stalk of a match anglers in Essex for venues I hadn’t fished.
Ended up with:
Timberland fishery (150lb won in July)
Oakwood farm fishery (175lb won in June)
North Benfleet Hall Fishery (121lb won in October)

Re: Top Kits
I fish Nick Gilbert AmberCore, very similar to Hydro but about £6 / top kit.
The colours are the same ratings as Hydro, other than the green which is the same as grey hydro. I usually fish slightly on the lighter girlier side and make use of the puller... so in my long kits for the summer I have ...

I expect to join, depending mainly on dates and whether they clash with my other club... can’t get away with fishing both Saturday and Sunday much when trying to get out most weekends as it is :fistycuffs
