What advantage could using a slider on the pole give you?

Image Imagesorry boys it seam strange but in the old days we fished for gobies on a deep stretch of the soar and we made sliders out of big balsa floats the point of this was speed when the depth is over 13ft if you missed a bite the float would settle quicker with one of these slider floats so making it quicker to catch i just thought the same over there  Imagei surpose pole floats have changed a lot nowerdays Image

I have never fished in Holland joff but maybe on them big canals overthere with Bream and Tench in mind surely the lollipop/flat float or even the Pole Feeder would be good options ;) Image

on your knots , use 2 long ones and better with 0.15 or under line, they can still move a little bit tho' imo but have read today that marking the line with 2 black lines either side of the knots will help hold them in place.

have no knowledge of dutch rivers but seem to recall a vid. of bob nudd catching bream from a deepish river using a sliding polaris pole float, would have thought some rubbers stuck sideways on to stem would achieve a running effect between two spaced micros, as this may assist hooking as you'de be pulling through the line rather than the flow and float, only an idea ,
