Angling Trust Oxford WL
The 5th round of the Oxford winter league was fished by 5 teams on a gin clear Kennet and Avon canal at Avington. With the water gin clear and midweek frosts most feared the worst but there were plenty of small fish caught and the odd bonus perch also showing.
1st Dave Kirk - Isis - 11lb 7oz. Dave contiued his run of form in the winter. He had lots of small roach on a 3m whip with pinkie on the hook over groundbait and squatt feed. He also had some bonus perch on worm.
2nd Kevin Holmes - Sensas A4 - 10lb 13oz. Kevin was pegged 2 away from the winner and had all small roach and perch on a 4m whip and pinkie hookbait.
3rd Martin Phipps - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 9lb 13oz. Martin had all roach on 3m whip and pinkie.
4th Gary Barclay - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 9lb 8oz
5th John Beesley - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 9lb 7oz
