Oxford and District Open
The practice match for the Oxford winter league was fished by 36 anglers on the Medley stretch of the Thames. With the river getting clearer by the day and no flow then the last thing the anglers wanted was bright sunshine and no wind but that was what they had. In these conditions the fish often tightly shoal up and today showed that. All the weights were in the last 12 pegs at the bottom end of Medley.
1st Mark Bowerman - Sensas A4 - 20lb 2oz. Mark drew end peg on the venue and had mainly roach on pole and maggot.
2nd Paul Glenfield - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 18lb 9oz. Paul drew end peg in the perch bay and also had all roach on pole and maggot over groundbait.
3rd Tony Hobbs - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 17lb 8oz. Tony also drew at the bottom end of the perch bay and had roach on pole and maggot.
4th Gary Barclay - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 15lb 9oz. Gary drew on the perch straight and also had roach on pole and maggot.
5th Paul Harrop - Turners - 15lb 8oz
