Thames - Donnington - result

FTB Open match
The FTB tackle shop sponsered open match was fished by 54 anglers on the Folly and Donnington stretches of the Thames. With the warm sunny weather came the multitude of rowing boats and canoes together with walkers and cyclists which made the fishing difficult at times. Despite all the distractions the venues fished well and plenty of roach were caught but the bream did not show. The winner picked up a healthy £540 thanks to the sponsership from the Marston Oxford based tackle shop.
1st Martin Kirk - Sensas A4 - 25lb 4oz. Martin drew in the deep water at Folly and fished his favorite chop worm on the pole at 6m and 13m with worm on the hook. He had 4 decent skimmers and some quality roach and perch.
2nd Paul Glenfield - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths -17lb 6oz - Paul drew the last peg on the green bank at Donnington. he had 100 roach up to a pound on pole and maggot over groundbait feed.
3rd Carl Eland - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 14lb 11oz. Carl drew end peg on Folly and had a bream plus roach.
4th John Beesley - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 14lb 9oz. John drew opposite the boathouses had all small roach on pole and maggot.
5th Nigel Bearman - Sensas A4 - 12lb 10oz.
