I've only been in for a pole section once. Uckinghall Pool, BAA water. Jeez ... there's all sorts of 'orrible crawly stuff when you get in there and yes the waters freezin.
I pretended.. all casual like... I was fishin' on after the match before I dropped me kegs and got in there...after everyone had gone home . Oh and drying yourself off with a fishing towel is the pits
