For sale; Match this 5 and Elite 88

After being a Maver user and abuser now for the last 10 years i have decided to try a different brand, really hope i am not making a big mistake! So up for sale are my Maver match this series 5 and Maver elite 88 poles.

Maver Match this 5

Simply outstanding! An amazing Competition match pole designed and tailor made for all UK style match fishing. The 'Match This 5' has everything - rigidity, balance and strength. Reinforced sections make this pole the perfect commercial carping pole whilst still remaining lightweight enough to be comfortably used on canals, lakes and rivers. Incorporating Nanolith technology, tip bounce has been reduced to an absolute minimum.

16 meter pole which is generally in excellent to very good condition. No cracks or breaks.
Some minor wear on the number 5 section.
Some very minor wear to the graphics on the 13 meter section.
Dolly butt is unused.

7 power kits. 2 with black hydro with pulla bungs. The rest are unelasticated. I bought some 8, 12 and 16-18 latex for these but have not yet elasticated them. Quite sure i have atleast 3 or 4 pulla bungs for use with them also.
4 match kits all with the number ones removed (i still have the number ones safe) 2 with double number 5 and the other two with double number 8. All have pulla bungs.
Cupping kit with Preston kups.


Maver Elite 88

The stiffest model Maver have ever produced. This remarkable Elite 88 is the ultimate competition pole. Its qualities are unrivalled by any other pole currently available in the world. The weight and balance coupled with innovative Nano resins presents a pole that has a superb rigid action. Weighing in at a featherlight 570 grams at 11.5m and just 760 grams at 13m. 16 meter pole which is in good used condition. No cracks or breaks.
Some minor wear to joints but still have plenty of life left in them. Joints treated with Maver PTFE joint protector spray.
The female end of sections 5 and 7 have a wrap on them for protection while fishing short. This effects the pole in no way whatsoever. Pole still packs away into 13 meter section.
13 meter section has wear to the graphics but this is to be expected.
Dolly but shows signs of use but still has plenty of life.
9 Power kits all with drilled side pullers. 5 kits have 12-20 maver retro 3 kits have maver 6-10 retro 1 kit with grey hydro.
3 unelacticated match top 3's.
Cupping kit and preston kups.
1 Spare broken number 4 that requires a repair. Quoted £40 for this.


So thats the lot! I never felt the need to splash out on spares for either pole as they have never let me down. The number 4 off the Elite 88 was broken by a fall in windy conditions recently and i have never got around to getting it repaired. Only including it as it will be of no use to me down the line.

So thats 2 poles with a total new value of £3500 give or take plus the extra top kits that i have purchased. 23 top kits in total, 1 pole that is only bettered by three above it in the range and the Elite 88 which is Mavers flagship.

Would like to sell them as a complete package, may split them if i fail to do so. Collection from wolverhampton area, cash on collection. Photos on request, initial enquiries via pm.

Mine might end up on ebay yet with the series 5 if I cant shift them. I didn't really want to suffer that but needs must and all. Have you tried ebay pedro or are you avoiding it like the plague too?

if you put them on ebay then set them with a reserve so if it doesnt match what you want then its no sale so you haven't lost any thing but if they go higher than your reserve then your quids in

I may well be doing that sunday. Pain in the wobbly cheeks it is! Will let you know how it goes...or doesn't.....shame really....pair of cracking poles.....no pun intended!

Reduced to £1750 with free postage or delivery in person. Alternatively if you are collecting you can have them for £1700.

£700 OVNO for the Match this 5 (which is now laccyed up)
£1000 OVNO for the Elite 88

Starting bids are lower on ebay but if a 401 that's knackered and 6 years old is fetching upwards of £650 then those pair look decent value in my eyes.
