Golden Peg Drawbags 2012
Golden Peg Drawbags 2012
Just updating the Golden Peg record sheet for the coming season.......
Interesting to note who were the drawbags from last year - particularly as the two 'Golden Balls' heading the table missed several of the earlier matches
Heading the table with 4 golden peg draws apiece were......
Tommy Cooper and Phil B
Closely followed home with 3 golden peg draws by MGB & Glyn
MrV, HaHa and Roberto D were on golden pegs twice during the season
Others who managed to draw a golden peg once were
Rich C
KOD
Heinzer
Cotti
Josh
Yamo
Harry
Brambles
TK
And unusually the golden peg was only won once during season - and that was on the first match

Golden Peg Drawbags 2012
...........Continued. Anyhows, Mick tells us there is a match on our chosen venue. As we are only 2 mins away, we meet them there anyway, and find Roundy doing the draw for one of his matches. Oh well, never mind, there is plenty more cut around. After a quick conflab with Mick, Josh, Tricast and Daz, we head off to our second choice, Hoo Mill. Park up and walk to have a look at the cut..... theres a lid on it upstream of the lock, and only half a dozen clear pegs immediately below the lock. Ah well, lets get in there eh. Decided on 3 above the cutting and 2 below on the fliers Daz dropped in first peg below, Mick below him and me on a "no hoper". The 2 fliers below were allocated to Josh and the other one "who carnt draw for toffeeeeeee" Could see them in the distance debating who went where, and low and behold, him who carnt draw for toffeeeeee ended up in the end peg, sitting in the middle of a reed bed looking for all the world like baby moses in his basket.............
To be concluded..........

Golden Peg Drawbags 2012
Continued.....again....... I was pinning my faith on the boat opposit throwing up a stripey or bonus chub or two, but on plumbing up, it was very shallow with probably less than a foot up against the boat . It was only 3 foot deep down the track, so wasn't too optimistic considering the previous couple of cold snaps. Started on the punch at 4 metres and after 20 minutes had my first fish, a dumpy little 2 ouncer The next hour produced a couple more the same size with a few blades thrown in to keep me warm By this time, Mick was admitting to one missed bite and Daz had one gudgeon, so had a walk down to Milky Bar who had snared one roach before the bloke on the boat opposite him decided to fit solar panels to the top of the boat . Daren't walk down to Moses's peg as MBK said he was still dry and would probably be sulking in the reeds Back to my peg, and the trend of a couple of dumpies followed by a few blades continued for another hour. Daz had admitted to getting a few tentative bites on the punch, but nothing had developed. I thought it might have something to do with the 6lb straight through to a size 8 mugger hook, so took him one of my rigs down and sat with him for 10 drinking coffee to keep warm. Well to say the change of rig made all the difference would be an overstatement....the float refused to go under Mike was still refusing to bother the scales (the ones we daint have)
Rumour had it Moses had snared a few down in Mr Crabtrees reedy bay, and MBK had also added to his own tally now the solar panels were fitted and the water had warmed up
Finally, the tale of the scales.............(them that we daint have)
Me ....20 odd roach
Moses.....6 roach
MBK.....4 roach
Daz.....1 goby
Mike....9/10 for effort......still there I think
Thanks lads for an enjoyable few hours
