Walsall Swifts merged with Walsall Town to become Walsall Town Swifts before just becoming Walsall FC 5 years later

There's a bit of history here......

The swift always flew down to the left corner until 1995-96 when the badge was changed to a sheild withe the leather trade mark in it with the swift flying to the top corner. The idea of the swift changing direction to flying up was ment as the direction the club was going (up). This season they have change the badge again and ditched the sheild and leather trade make and gone back to the circle and the swift flying up .

The team has 2 nick names. The swifts which as already been explained to have come from when they were Walsall town swifts and the other one is the saddlers which is to mark the history of the towns leather tradition of making saddles.
