Hi I am barry brookes's son andy...just wandering who new him ,,he had brookes of northfield fishing tackle shop in northfield and fished for cofton hackett

Hi Andy,

I'm sure there are a few on here that remember your dad. I fished against him and Cofton Hackett many moons ago in the West Mids Winter League and other comps.

We had a relative young side in those days called Stafford Trotters and slowly improved in that league, not to Cofton's high standards though.

He might remember me, - I was the really good looking one, Tony Keeling

Hi Andy,I knew your dad when I was a kid as my uncle Bob Evans was good friends with your dad and fished for the Cofton too along with Steve Freeman who worked in the shop.

Can't say I ' knew' him, but certainly remember him in his Cofton days. Remember fishing next to him in a match at Tewkesbury and visited the shop on a few occasions.

Had a very early (fibreglass) Lerc telescopic pole from him as a lad.

Hi thanks everyone I got the email and I spoke to jean on the phone earlier which was fantastic as she was my mums best friend ..sadly my mum isn't with us any more ..but it was great to speak to a true family friend....Happy new year to each and everyone of you
