Very good blog by Steve Collett on the anglers mail website this week.

Is self promotion by anglers now turning internet forums into a joke, anglers that have not really done anything in terms of results are getting sponsorship deals due to being able to talk the talk.

thats why i am proud to be a member of this site
you do not see the anglers on hear behaving in that way

I do alot of Hillwalking and it's the same with bloggers in that intrest. One in particular is a right wobbly cheeks. Holier than though, do as i say not as i do, condercending, patronising and "Look at me with all my free kit i'm testing man balls....."

just sums some angling internet forums up nowadays for me ....... there a complete waste of time !

Well isn't that how a lot of debates on other sites go ! Alpha male kicks in and off they go !!!!
To be honest it does not bother me !! I do not go on face book or twitter(no chance !) or any other forums now apart from this site so it is only when links are put on here I have a look !! and it's just the same ole !!!!!
As for Steve Collets article, well maybe just let things be, each to their own, in some cases I am sure there is some good stuff to watch etc.
If this article has achieved anything it has raised the profile of the bloke who wrote it and to be fair He might be a little guilty of it himself. I will say I do not know the bloke and He is no doubt a top guy.
That is just my opinion.

this is the only internet site I go on ! I do not go on Twitter or Facebook I can honestly say I've never once looked at either. well said choppy  with this site you have the friendly banter and some interesting stuff too
