Vin Sherwood,

I believe Vin Sherwood was the very same John Sherwood who won a few quid at Evesham.
When he moved he became.

John for some reason although I think Vin was his proper name, same guy that fished for England on the River Blackwater at Fermoy.

Pretty certain that is right Image Image Image

Dennis Neale, I believe, lives near Castle Donington somewhere. The same chap that made such a brilliant job of running the Alpha series of matches, - best run matches I have ever seen since I've been fishing. Image Image

Bill, I never knew that about Mr Sherwood. There is a memorial match for him at the back end of the season at Evesham. There is also a plaque on a seat in the cafe meadow to remember him.

Yes I'm pretty confident Vin and John Sherwood were one and the same guy, - I think his initials were VJ.

I can picture him now trundling down the banks at Evesham in his three wheeler. Image

Couldn't swear to but I think he also helped out at a fishery called Upton Warren or sumat like that, near Bromsgrove. Image Image

me and alan higgs were talking about the place yesterday and he mentioned JS something about 20 roach that he netted out of a farm pond and stocked them into there one of them being just under 4 pound in weight and would have grew bigger if some numpty didnt drop it on its head :'(

Glad I can still remember something Image

I believe John Sherwood or Vin as was over Derby way at the time, fished for England in 1969 on the Blackwater in Fermoy at the World Champs. Image Image Image Image

There was a VJ Sherwood in the team.

If I remember right the river was in flood and very few fish were caught. >:(
