CASHMORES CURSE MATCH 1 2008 - Sharretts Farm

Well time marches on and no ones started a thread for this first Cashmore’s Curse match………….so I spose it’s down to me to start one.

Known Cashmore’s casualties for this start to the 2008 season…………….

Brian Brambles and
M Kendall currently recovering from a back operation Image

Brambles place is taken by guest Drynet and all being well Larry Teepot is pencilled in to take Mr Kendalls peg Image

So may be a 25 turnout unless there are any more known casualties out there?

Might even be a 26 turnout if Zorro catches up with his PI river crack

If the thought of running a stick float through whets the appetite of anyone else reading this into fancying it – just pm me

This match is a straight replacement for match 1 last year which was flooded off.

There’s a bit of rain forecast the next few days…………….history can’t repeat itself, can it? :'(

Trent is reported lowish at the mo……….we might just catch for a nice level and touch of colour

If so which peg do you fancy?

Will the roach show or have they all been washed down to Nottingham with last summers floods?

What’s your target weight?

What do you reckon is gunna win it?

I’ve already got the key for the gate (might have a practise over the weekend) Image……….don’t forget to be there about 8.15am to get through

I'm really looking forward to it TK. The trouble is when you get excited it all goes pear shaped... or so they say   :D

Anyway, There'll be plenty of roach and other fish in there, just whether we can catch 'em. I think the idea of fish being washed into the ocean by water is complete baloney lol. The more i think about it the more daft it seems, despite people using it as no1 excuse for eveything.

I thought fish liked water, the more the better and im sure they're capable of finding slacks.

Looking forward to it myself.........but might not have the same view at about 12noon next Sat  Image  :D

well i wouldnt like to be up the top by the arches and wouldnt want to be too far down stretch.Dunno why really just wouldnt. Anywhere in middle would be nice. Would like a peg with a fair run on the pole so someone aint hooking fish in front of me like previous year. ill make sure i got a good bank stick so my net dont float down stream again.

I will use my usual tactics and hope they will work, aint gonna overcomplicate things.

Wouldnt like to be flanked by several people for various reasons.... ball it in for obvious reasons unless he throws down stream, tommy cooper as he has been known to hook people's keepnets before on the trent--- ha ha and the mole naturally .ROLLY in case he floats the pole. Also dave pearce as he'll most likely dump behind my pole roller.
would like to avoid crack river anglers liek yourself and my old man too. Would like to draw next to one of the new guys just to see how they attack the river.
looking forward to it-

Apart from drawing right up by the arches where it was a tad weedy last Sept, I've usually drawn about pegs 15-17

Wouldn't mind a change of scenary myself
I will use my usual tactics and hope they will work, aint gonna overcomplicate things.

Come on, you can't leave it at that...........you've had a couple of good weights/matches over the last year or so down Burton............put us right on what you are doing.
Rigs/baits/methods/feeding regimes?

A few (proper) bream and obviously silvers, but not the expected double figure bags. Image

Mind, Broadholme (mile down stream) apparently fished its head off - ruckloads of silvers down one leg, chub the other.

Perhaps they'll all move up stream slightly to us (in the morn) with the extra bit of colour going in  Image

Don't fret Drynet - I aint bought 1/4 squatt for in the morn........PMA and we'll make it happen  ;)
