i can't believe how many anglers come from March to fish the matches even march had a 120 pegger on the old nene great bunch of lads Image
i enjoyed the day should of won my section made school boy eras  Image Image weighed 2lb2oz lost two big fish both on bread i'm sure one was a big perch 2lb plus and the other a foul hooked skimmer  Image Image Imagealso turned up after sorting out all my kit all week we no canal rigs  ::) ::) ::)i'd left them in the kitchen  Image Image Image
still i feel i'm on the road back the interest was there should of stayed on bread all match instead of looking for bonus fish
i must say what a well run match bobby paid the first 6 in the match and top three in the sections
Image Image Image Image
will defo be going next year  Image

I did manage to draw the scales again, unfortunately that was where my ability to predict the future ended. Scales meant end peg, so I should really have caught more than 15oz :-[
It all started going to pot when I couldn't get a bite on bread for the first 30 mins and I'd watched the fella next to me net 3 fish.

Here's the results shamelessly pinched off the AM website (hope thats ok):

1st Andy Curless (Image) 10-7-0, skimmers, poled chopped worm and pinkie, peg 8. layby section.
2nd Alan Taylor (Wreake AC) 6-12-0.
3rd Norman Bradshaw (Browning MG) 6-9-0.
4th Mark Roberts (Wigston AS) 5-10-0.
5th Steve Warner (Wreake AC) 4-14-0.
6th Darran Bickerton (Kamasan Starlets) 4-3-0.

I know what you mean about getting back into it Joff, that was the 6th match on a canal that I've fished in 6 years and I feel well off the pace, problem is I just don't think quickly enough these days and end up messing up.........before i moved south I was on the cuts every week be it the Stainy, Junky, Erewash or Fosdyke  :'( the drains down south just arn't the same...
