Bilston Angling centre open

Bilston Angling Centre,
Fished on the Staffs-Worcs Canal at Wobaston
1st Gary Ward (Dudley Bait and Tackle) 9-0-0 three bream, roach, perch and gudgeon to squatt and caster from peg 36 by the motorway
2nd Dave Richards (Mid Leisure) 8-12-12;
3rd Ben Garbett (Black Country Tackle) 8-9-0;
4th Paul Turner (Fox Tipton Van den Eynde) 8-1-0;
5th Mark Westwood (Bilston Angling Centre) 7-14-10;
6th Ian Hingley (Dudley Bait and Tackle) 7-4-7.

While Gary took the lion share of the pool money it was Paul Turner who had a fish to remember, a massive chub weighing 6lb 8oz.....thats what you call a rubba dub!

I'm not 100% Diddy but i think he had it on a squatt rig.

like i said Diddy, not 100%, there were a lot of skimmers being caught and he hooked it on number 3 laccy.

yahoo, paul has a cunning knack of catching silly fish from canals. i emember him having a little catfish from the guc at milton keynes a few years back. Image Image

Bloody good angler, just couldn't give a toss,

Paul, along with Peter Plant probably helped me more than any one else when i first started fishing opens.

I dont know mate....everytime i say its going to be crap it fishes well...there was a lot of colour in it yesterday but its always a roach match, there might be the odd skimmer caught but not enough to start feeding for them.

sounds like heaven!!! where i'm going sunday you cud happily catch 6lb+ of roach and get hammered by a numpty fishing curly wirrly line and corn catching skimmers. Image Image Image

kennet & avon at seend park near devises. will be skimbob central if you draw anywhere near the slimey buggers! match has 70 odd at the moment as the rivers are flooded and there's zero matches on of any size on down ere this week!!! :( Image Image

Lee, are you going to risk putting in 160 to 166 again with all that rain? I personally would because thats the only time they havent produced but its a tough call. Similarly, someone said you may be putting in 1 to 20 in the semi. Has that ever seen B&J?

It will be pegged the same as in the last round two weeks ago with the possible exception that i will put in peg 37 and leave out peg 84A, all pegs will move up 1 place.


I will be using pegs 1 to 20 in the practice matches,i have got to get all the reeds out from the inside, i had a walk up there on Sunday and there a lot of roach topping, this might be why the pegs between 25 and 29 have not produced this year. I think the fish are still in the shallower section, it has not seen any worm and joker, in the semi i will be using the best 10 sections of 9.
