Never fished it TK ! How about that. Walked over it a lot
Not seen the river as far down as Coleshill.
The chub I used to watch from the bridge at Barston a couple of years back seem to have disappeared or moved on as well :(

there are chub at Dukes bridge Coleshill that go over 7lb.....you can stand on the bridge and look down stream feed chips and after a few minutes..unless your not an angler you will be burstin to get at them....one of my friends
used to poach there early mornings monster chub perch and pike on a spinner.the river was 15 inches deeper then.but the sluice gates were lowered to stop flooding and hampton lane...few tench and carp by the old railway pilings in the deep hole....i thought about getting a coleshill ticket last year..£70.but walks would do for me now....i been fishing it and walking it for over 40 years

I was a member of Coleshill Ac for about 8 years and fished Division 1 Nationals with them. I used to fish the opens on the Blythe and if you draw the right pegs you can't help but catch, the record weight was 90lbs of Chub from about 3ft of water, amazing. Sometimes the fish would stop biting so a good thing there for me which worked was to throw 5 or 6 big handfully of maggots in and they would start biting again for some reason. Pike can be a problem sometimes and I usually had a rod set up with a spinner on just to get them out if they showed. Peg 99 on the Coleshill match length was always the one to draw.

My advice... dont bother, mammoth walks over rough terrain, several gates to climb, and it needs a couple of foot on.
I actually packed up and fooked off, most rare, but after wading across my peg, and the water not reaching my knees, i wasnt over confident
