quick question

when tying spade end hook how many turns do you give them i'm asking because its been quite a topic over the weekend as I've done about 70 hooks i was messing around with a few turns on some then pulling for a brake i did this on 0.6 line 0.7 and 0.8 the results i thought were quite interesting as the 0.6 line and a 20s Gama green 4turns broke the line first so as for lightness of hook and line this would work or i'm i being daft i normally do 6 turns on light lines and go up on the amount of turns as the size of hook gets bigger :-/ :-/ :-/

I never put less than 10 turns on joffy even on 0.06 as long as you wet the hook an knot before you pull tight.. the more turns you put on the better the hook sits, less turns the more chance of it sliping and breaking on the spade. Image

Must admit it is just six turns for me.

I don't like wasting line Image

I can see Qs point on this one so I might dig in and buy another spool of line and try it Image

14 turns for power hooks.

I tie my own hook links , but have to say i have used the Sensas pre tied packs if i have run out of my own, and they are spot on. Some of our lads use them exclusivly with no probs........ Image Image
