That must have been in the days when you could buy half a house if you won one of the River Championships!

I have just bought 1000 litres of Central heating oil - 81p a litre. I hear that in Wales it is 54p a litre. That is a difference of £270 on my 1000 litres. Talk about a rip off! Oh and you can add VAT to that as well!

Just out of interest Waveney One do you know Barham and Claydon ? That's where all my family come from (Reynolds) my cousion is Gary Abbott who used to fish a few matches, don't know if he still does as not seen him for years ! My uncle Pete used to run a haulage pick up firm mainly operating on the A14.

I am fishing Barham Pits on Sunday and I often use Birds Fishing Tackle shop in Claydon, right by the level crossing. Only 5 mins from here. I have fished with/against Gary in the past, I seem to think he fished for Ipswich Wasps years ago. There are quite a few fishing Reynolds around here. Two brothers Richard and Terry who are probably in their late 40's early 50's. Richard has a son Alex who fished for Browning Wickford and is in his 20's. A very good angler. Terry suffers really badly from chronic arthritis and only fishes disabled matches these days. He has a daughter who is very keen to fish in the summer but not so keen this time of year
. She is in her mid teens and fished for Nisa Waveney Juniors. Not a bad angler either but spends too much time talking rather than fishing!

Certainly is.
I have had a change of plans and will be fishing Suffolk Water Park tomorrow. It is a commercial between Claydon and Bramford that would not have been here when you were last here CWH. There is an open there tomorrow so I went and practised today and had 2 great perch and a load of smaller ones from 6 oz to 12 ounces, a few roach and 2 skimmers. I guesstimate that I had about 12lbs in all if those 2 went 4lb between them.
Not bad for 2 hours fishing but it was the best 2 hours of the day - 1300hrs to 1500hrs.
First fish photographed by the baliff
A close up of the fish
The second one, no one about to take the photo so I put a 2 pint bait box next to it.
Any views on the weights of those perch lads?

Very pleased with them. They say they have had 4lb fish out, but I have never seen one. Quite a few 2lbers come out in the matches though, mostly on caster. Worm, even lobworm, doesn't seem to work particularly well. I will have a lobworm worm line in the match tomorrow though.
