With a big spring tide running in all match and some colour in the water it was the feeder that did the damage last Saturday. The top 6 all came to the feeder and the winner caught quite a few skimmers from penultimate end peg 143. There was 18inches of colour at the start and 13inches by the top of the tide.

1st Steve Clarke 39lb 2oz from 143
2nd Chris Jackubowski 31lb 13oz peg 51 on the pole feeder with a mostly roach bag
3rd Bob Wessels 29.10 peg 144 skimmers on the feeder
4th Nick Larkin 27lb 12oz peg 23 on the feeeder had mainly quality roach with a couple of large roach bream hydrids.
Section weights were down a bit on previous weeks but overall once again I don't think there were many if any weights less then 10lb

22 to 26 John Platten 18lb 6oz
27 to 31 Mick Bartrum 17lb 13oz
46 to 50 John Taylor 17lb 10oz
51 to 56 Glenn Hubbard 23lb 1oz
61 to 65 Don Painton 20lb 2oz
66 to 70 Robert Hubbard 15lb 3oz
71 to 78 Keith Ford 22lb 10oz
124 to 129 Ian Bailey 13lb 6oz
139 to 144 Kevin Bland 19lb 3oz

As a matter of interest the league to date looks rather familiar with last years pace setters well up again this year. The league is run on a weight basis with the highest 8 Saturday weights being taken into account. These are the leaders weights taking into account their 8 highest match weights this year but excluding those shown above. In fact Nick Larkin was the only one of the top 4 to increase his total weight this last week.

1st Nick Larkin 231lb 1oz an average of nearly 29lb over 8 matches. Nick will have lifted his weight by 27lb 12oz but will lose his lowest weight that hasn't been thrown out 'til now 19lb 2oz giving him 239lb 11oz
2nd Robert Hubbard 230lb 0oz - How close is that! Roberts weight of 15lb 3oz is lower than his current counting weight of 15lb 11oz so his overall weight for the series will not go up.
3rd Brian Gooch 218lb
4th Andy Moss 207lb 11oz

One of my mates fished yesterday and said the river still had colour in it and he had some skimmers. I think that come Saturday though it will be roach with a slow, (neap on Sunday), ebb tide all day.
