We all suffer from this from time to time, especially when fishing carp waters.

Simps suffered a real  Image grueller on Saturday. I didn't realise he had that much red hydro in his top kits. :o

I rather have more lacky than a broken pole due to short amounts of lacky or it been too tight.  Image Image

I soon left him to his own devices as I worked out he was a "Lost Cause". Image Image Image

If he hadnt been so lazy Joff he would have unshipped at the no4 so he didnt have to play the fish on 11 metres. Image Image Still it was lucky for him they were only the smaller fish. ;)

I would NEVER play a Rolfs carp on my number 4, you know why....
I did once and the number 4 broke, never again. The power kit it for playing fish on.

Yes Joff I got it in. I had already lost a foul hooker under the platform and didnt want to loose another Image

Welcome back JJ, I don't use 175'2 there mate I use Fox Carp match series 2. As for that lacky you were using at the horns Image Image Image I wondered why your pants were falling down :D Image

Not allowed, is that one of the rules, whatever next. Are they banned at many places to your knowledge? :'(

A lot of places ban them the same as hand lineing and trapping elastic.

Not sure what trapping elastic is mate im new to this carp thing but I agree with hand lining ban, it can be dangerous. I dont see a problem with those pullas, theyre a good option for mixed fisheries where the size of the fish varies. I dont use em so I can crank em in, i use them so I can use a lighter elastic, to cope with the smaller fish, will allow a bigger fish to swim away from the feeding fish in your peg and you can get away with lighter lines in more difficult conditions. Less damage to the fish's mouth, just my opinion, would have been ideal for Si with all that elastic streaming out  :)

Just in addition Malc I think any ban at Rolfs or otherwise has been born out of a misinterpretation of the AT rule that talks abot trapping of elastic and handlining. Pulla bungs are definately allowed in Fishos etc. God I hate rules Image

Just to enforce what Malc says a lot of fisheries ban these pulla kit jobs.

One of the main bones of contention appears to be the possible danger to youngsters or the inexperienced using them.

Bill going a carp venue, how did that happen mate? As long as the ban is for the right reasons but not sure they are dangerous to anyone, as for the inexperienced its all part of the learning process. Good luck on Sunday Tony. 8-)

He,he,he,

Bob, the biggest part of my job is writing about different venues and keeping in contact with owners/managers and the like. It is little known but I have done this for well over twenty years now.
I also report on many more aspects of fishing/tackle/stories as well as matches.
The comments on pulla kits are not mine but what I pick up from owners/managers and the like; the venues that ban them of course; they don't want the responsibility if an accident happens. Mind you a float could quite easily take someones eye out; it could be an 'accident waiting to happen' - I hope not.
