Match 6 - Inlet Outlet
Match 6 - Inlet Outlet
After yesterdays match some of the new guys came for a stroll to view the battlefield for the next grueller.
Whilst some rubbed their hands with relish, Old Wedgeys face was a picture.............
Don't think he could get over what he saw and he seemed in total disbelief that we would be fishing the outlet

Whats the in & out fished like in previous contests.

Hi Drynet
It's really dependent on the conditions.
For the inlet to fish well it needs a combination of water on the Trent which adds to the depth and colour and for the station to be drawing. Yesterday it looked sock on.
Our best match weights off there have been a couple of 12lbs (all roach), at either end to differing methods - both pole and waggler.
The 12lbs don't do the place justice as when the roach move in you can have some real big bags.......it's just when we fish it the 'curse' descends.......and it can be hard - but nowhere near as hard as that cut match the other week - There's also some chub perch and bream that lurk in there
Same with the outlet really, fishes better when the river is up so it 'backs up'. On the outlet probably double figures again is our best weight, but there should be a fair few 4-5lb bags to keep you occupied.
Whats your view MrV

Sat 15th Dec
Really depends whether you are on the inlet or outlet and the peg itself and whther the river is up or not - that can put an extra foot or two on both.
Work on on an average 3 foot for outlet, upto 5&6 foot down track for inlet, shelving up across like a cut, although it does shallow up the closer you get to the mouth of the river
