If it is BW & J i've never used it but I intend to give it a go this winter.

So personally i'd prefer straight pinkies at dawn, if you'll excuse the expression. :D

From a purely selfish point of view at the minute !

i got mixed and thought the match was this weekend and thats when i was working :-[. I'm not sure yet if I'm working next weekend so at the mo I'm a may be ;). I will need some info on what a cut is as i looked in the dictionary and it said ...........

A place were dogs crap,
A place were all known druggies gather to shoot, snort and what ever they do
A place were ever brat with a bmx practice bunny hoping over fiber glass poles
A place were boats think they own the water
a place were its free picking for all car thief's
A place were chavs can act big in front of anglers

It doesn't mention anything about catching fish Image. Are you sure we are going to the right venue TK ???????? Image Image Image

:D :D :D

a) Agree when the cut is in the vicinity of houses - not too much DS along the Wood Lane length
b) Never seen any along that length - perhaps they are still recovering from their Fri night fixes
c) The towpath restricters assist reducing nos of bikes along here
d) Wish we could see a boat along this section
e) Cars are in view of the first few pegs
f) They are still in bed recovering from their pint of snakebite from the night before

It could be up your street ME, there's tench and some carp along this section to give your hydro a tug Image

If you compare the tiny amount anglers pay for fishing the cut, against the megabucks that boaters have to pay for cruising 'em, believe me, we DO own the water!!!

A debatable one that MGB if you start working it out at pence per mile - viz cost of (fishing) rental per mile stretch against the availablity of miles you can cruise on your boat for the license fee

I see your point TK, but most anglers would obviously not purchase a ticket from every club in the land covering every mile of cut/river, just local ones. Boat owners have to pay the full licence fee whether they cruise the system or not, and on top of that, a mooring fee is payable if they don't have a private mooring, so we have to pay whether we are cruising or going nowhere.

i pay more road tax than a motor bike or even a push bike so with your theory i have more right than them to be on the road, or if thats the case a 12 wheeled 40 ton artic pays the most road tax so does that mean that artics own the road Image Image

Your missing the point, ME. If you own a car and chose to drive it on the roads it's no use moaning about 40 wheel artics which will also be there. By the same token there's no point in anglers who chose to fish canals moaning about boats. They are canals after all. Yes there are some inconsiderate boaters about but most of us slow down for anglers and stick to the middle unless otherwise directed. As an active member of the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust, I and hundreds of others give up many hours of our free time to bring these local canals back to their former glory and we passionately believe that their restoration will bring benefits to all canal users, anglers, boaters, walkers, bird watchers, etc. etc. A little more tolerance and understanding from all users should make the canals a pleasure for us all to use.
