Zorro had had some skimmers and was having small roach when I got there

Yamo had had predominantly perch - loads of em by the sounds of it. An essox lucius had snaffled his best roach - a 10ozer

MGB has been 'at it again', doing battle with old Essox Lucius.........

He told me 'My favourite lure came up trumps again. Ive got a box full of lures, plugs and spinners collected out of the trees this last 10 years, but It's strange how I can only ever use the same one! Probably 'cause it always seems to produce. It was fascinating. It was obvious the pike were on the feed as every so often the fry would be leaping out of the water to escape! If I put the lure through the area where the fry were leaping, I invariably catch the culprit!

This one weighed in around 7 pounds. Not big, but great sport off the back of me boat!

'All quiet on the western front' today, as it should be, given the close season on the canal due to its SSSI status.

Looked very inviting with a fair few fish 'on the move'
